Non-destructive Testing (NDT)

Non-destructive Testing (NDT)

Our Technicians are Certified in the Following NDT Methods:

  • Visual and Optical Testing (VT) - Trained to visually inspect parts to find surface imperfections.
  • Leak Testing (LT) - Using a penetrant solution, we can find those surface-breaking defects that cannot or is hard to see with the naked eye. Great to inspect material that holds contents under pressure.
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) - Magnetic lines traveling through material to find cracks or voids that can not be seen from the surface of the material.
  • Acoustic Emission Testing (AE) - High frequency sound waves are sent into the material to find flaws such as change in material thickness and other properties.
  • Electromagnetic Testing (ET) - Alternating electrical current produces a magnetic field that can find surface or near surface flaws. Also known as Eddy Current Testing.
  • Radiography (RT) - X-rays are used to inspect virtually all materials. Great for testing density and thickness, but also to locate or measure hidden parts in an assembly.
Nondestructive Testing, otherwise known as NDT, is an analysis technique that does not damage or destroy the material or product. Used in a wide variety of applications, NDT is used in many different fields. We specialize in many different methods that are useful for structural inspections. All of our NDT inspectors are SPRAT Rope Access certified, so contact us for your next inspection of buildings, roller coasters, bridges, etc!
